    I tested CKFinder (2700 images) on my local computer and it took less than 2 seconds just to generate list of files on the server side.
    Displaying it in browser took 25 seconds (Firefox) and 8 seconds (IE).

    Is your computer old? Maybe the server is overloaded?
    Open Firebug (in Firefox) to trace ajax calls, you should see "GetFiles" request there, something similar to that:

    Open this link in a new window and check how much time did it take just to generate that XML, let me know the result.

    You could also consider categorizing those images into smaller sets.

    Ckfinder v1.1 PHP e mais de 3000 imagens em um dir. Quando eu clico no dir, o navegador se vey muito lento acho que, cerca de 10 minutos. Não metter desativa thumnails ou habilitado e do navegador que você usa (IE, Mozilla, Opera). Navegador de acidente de qualquer maneira.
    Alguma idéia como resolver isso?
